The Eastern Florida State College softball team will look to stay hot when they hit the road on Saturday afternoon for a Citrus Conference doubleheader.
The Titans are 4-0 this week and will travel to the College of Central Florida for a pair of games Saturday beginning at noon.
Eastern Florida State College is now 13-11 in the conference and 28-14 overall, sweeping two nationally-ranked teams this week.
The College of Central Florida comes into the matchup on a four-game losing streak and are now 8-16 in the conference. The Patriots split a doubleheader with Miami Dade College at the end of March but has lost series to Daytona State College and Polk State College to start April. They have allowed 47 runs during the four-game losing streak.
Both teams are in the top eight in team batting average this season as the Titans are hitting .326 while the College of Central Florida is hitting .322 and are in the top five in doubles, each hitting over 70 doubles this season.
Madison VanAllen comes into Saturday hitting .416 for the Patriots which is 11th in the FCSAA and she has three home runs this season. Teammates Leah Clark and Bailey Holmes are also hitting .400 this season.
Madison Velazquez is hitting .415 in 24 games this season while Avery Velazquez is hitting .410 in 42 games. Avery Velazquez is also 16-8 on the mound and has a 1.64 ERA this season and has 118 strikeouts. Avery Velazquez is coming off a one-hitter against Santa Fe College on Thursday.
The Titans took the first two meetings this season at Titan Softball Complex on March 1.
