The Eastern Florida State College softball team will host the College of Central Florida in a battle of top 20 teams Saturday afternoon on WEFS-TV.
The Titans, who are ranked 19th in the national poll, come into the doubleheader 2-2 in the Citrus Conference after a split with Santa Fe College on the road. Eastern Florida State College is 17-5 overall and 9-1 at home.
Saturday's doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m. and will be shown live on WEFS-TV, channel 9 or 455 on Spectrum, 68 on DirecTV, 30 on Dish and 68 on AT&T Uverse.
The College of Central Florida is coming off a sweep against Polk State College and are also 2-2 in the conference.
The Patriots are fifth in the state in hitting this season, batting .356 as a team led by Leah Clark and Amy Crosby who are both hitting over .400. Clark is hitting .436 while Crosby is hitting .429.
On the mound, Hailey Pyle leads the staff with a 1.60 ERA and allowed one earned run over seven innings on Thursday.
Eastern Florida State College is led by Avery Velazquez who is third in the FCSAA with a 0.94 ERA and her 11 wins is second. Offensively, Ashley Grieser comes into Saturday hitting .467 with six doubles while Aracelis Jimenez is hitting .437 as the leadoff hitter.
