Rainout wraps up EFSC softball team's season

Rain has caused the Eastern Florida State College softball team's season to come to an end.

The softball team placed third in the Southern Conference after a doubleheader win against Miami Dade. It ended up being the final two games of the season for the Titans.

The five sophomores have left their mark on the program over the past couple of seasons at Eastern Florida State College.

On the mound, Trinity Howard and Mandy Hedetniemi-Taylor leave as some of the best strikeout pitchers the program has had in the past decade.

In two seasons, Hedetniemi-Taylor has struck out 248 hitters including 125 this season. She has had a 14-strikeout game last season and finishes her Titans career with a 2.08 ERA over 57 appearances and has 37 complete games, 22 wins and has made 48 starts.

Howard was with the Titans for three seasons and has struck out 225 hitters and has a career ERA of 3.81 in 69 appearances. The right-hander has 22 wins and 36 complete games and has started 60 games.

Offensively the trio of Rachel Lamoureaux, Makenzie Fore and Courtney Stout have been big pieces of the batting order the past two seasons.

Lamoureaux, a catcher from Bradenton, had 15 stolen bases and 21 runs scored, hitting a team-leading .363 in 43 games, starting all 43. In her two seasons, Lamoureaux has hit .328 with 46 runs scored and 25 stolen bases in 250 at-bats.

Fore, a first baseman from Oviedo, hit .340 in two seasons and had 60 RBI in 100 games, playing 50 games in each of her two seasons. Her 21 doubles are ranked among the best in the past decade and she has scored 62 runs.

Stout, an infielder from Bradenton, finishes her two seasons with 27 stolen bases in 85 games for the Titans. The infielder has scored 32 runs.

The team hit .281 this season and had a 3.62 ERA, winning 19 games.
