The Eastern Florida State College softball team lost a doubleheader at Seminole State College Saturday in Sanford.
The Titans lost the first game 2-1 in eight innings and then fell 9-4 in the second game.
The Titans had five hits in the first game as they took the lead in the top of the eighth on Jaidyn Ahl's RBI single scored Meritxell Blesa. But Seminole State would score two runs in the bottom of the inning. Sophomore pitcher Katelyn Wilfert surrendered one run on three hits over seven 2/3 innings, striking out four.
Seminole State College jumped out to a 7-1 lead after two innings, but the Titans got back into the game, scoring three times in the third highlighted by freshman Gabriela Garcia's two-run home run. Sarah Goldsmith finished with three hits in the game.
The Titans will be back at Titan Softball Complex Tuesday for a doubleheader with Daytona State College beginning at 4 p.m.
