Titans Sweep Miami Dade
Eastern Florida’s softball team extended its winning streak to five games and captured its FCSAA Southern Conference season openers on Sunday with a sweep of defending champion Miami Dade College in Kendall.
Eastern Florida's softball team extended its winning streak to five games and captured its FCSAA Southern Conference season openers on Sunday with a sweep of defending champion Miami Dade College in Kendall.
The victories improved Eastern Florida's overall record to 10-14. Miami Dade dropped to 0-2 and 11-15.
The Titans captured the first game 6-0. Alexia Snyder was the winning pitcher. Rosie Lyard went 2-for-4 with two doubles and Karli Smith was 2-for-3 with two runs batted in.
The second game went to the Titans, 11-3. Snyder got the win. Natasha Kistler was 3-for-4 while Sarah Hart and Carly Nicholas were 2-for-3.
Next up for the Titans is a home field conference doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m. Thursday against Palm Beach State.
