Bio
Doug Butler took over the brand new cross country program at Eastern Florida State College in 2021-22 and the program took off right from the start.
The men's team has gone to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament in each of the first four seasons and won the NJCAA Region 8 championship three times in the first four years.
The men's program has finished in the top 20 at the national tournament in three of the four seasons with a 15th overall place at the national tournament in their first appearance.
Buter was named the NJCAA Division I Atlantic Region Coach of the Year in 2022 by the NJCAA Cross Country Coaches Association.
The men's program has also competed in the NJCAA Half Marathon National Tournament in each of the past three seasons and the team placed 10th in the nation in 2023.
Butler coaches both the men's and women's cross country teams and also continues as the head coach of the Satellite High School cross country teams.
Butler has won 24 state championships and been the runner-up 15 times in his high school coaching career at both Holy Trinity and Satellite High.
