Then in doubles, the No. 1 doubles team of Fernando Martinez and Salva Mulet advanced to the championship match with a straight sets win over Barton's Charles Alipoe and Raphael Ankrah. Martinez and Mulet won the match 6-1, 6-4.

The No. 2 doubles team of Filip Sormaz and Johan Mottlau will also be playing for a national title on Thursday after winning a thrilling three set match against Tyler Junior College's Wojciech Biela and Luca Laurindo who were the No. 1 seed.

"The key was sticking to our original game plan and we knew what to do. We had been serving well the whole match so just holding serve and when we had our chances, try to get the break," Mottlau said. "They played a really good match so it was hard for us, but when we saw the chance we took it."
