Achour brothers earn ITA All-American honors
Eastern Florida State College men’s tennis players Alexandr Achour and Zachariah Achour have earned ITA All-American honors
Eastern Florida State College men's tennis players Alexandr Achour and Zakaria Achour have earned ITA All-American honors for the 2024-25 college tennis season.
Alex Achour was named an All-American in both singles and doubles, teaming with his brother Zakaria in doubles. In singles, Achour was ranked in the top 10 all season in the national rankings and lost in the quarterfinals to the eventual national champion.
In doubles, the pair were one of the top five teams in the nation all season and lost a thrilling three-set match in the national tournament.
The criteria for ITA All-American singles honors are finishing in the top ten of the final ITA National NJCAA Singles Rankings. All-American recognition is awarded to doubles teams who finish in the top five of the final ITA National NJCAA Doubles Rankings.
Teammate Alberto Perez was named an NJCAA Division I Second Team All-American and lost in the finals of the NJCAA Division I National Tournament in South Carolina.
The Titans finished in sixth place at the national tournament.
