EFSC men's tennis players advance at ITA Cup

Three Eastern Florida State men's tennis players advanced to the quarterfinals of the NJCAA ITA Cup quarterfinal tournament in Tifton, Georgia on Friday.

Lucas Gonzalez, who is the No. 3 seed, defeated Alex Rainer 6-1, 6-1 to advance to the quarterfinals, where he will face Connor Coots who won in three sets. The match will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Jaewoo Choi won two matches on Friday to advance to the quarterfinals, defeating Muntingh Hamman in three sets as he bounced back after losing the first set 6-7(4) Choi won the second set 6-4 and the third 6-2. He played Arthur McCarthy in the afternoon and won 6-3, 6-4. Choi will play Luke Stuart at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Lluc Pasqual Camps defeated Tristian Du Plessis 6-1, 6-3 to advance to the quarterfinals where he will play No. 2 seed Cheng En Tsai for a spot in the semifinals.

In doubles, both teams had byes into the quarterfinal round and will be in action on Saturday.
