Men's tennis team picks up win
The Eastern Florida State College men's tennis team defeated Bates College Wednesday afternoon at Titan Tennis Center
The Eastern Florida State College men's tennis team picked up a win against an NCAA Division III team on Wednesday afternoon at Titan Tennis Center.
The Titans defeated Bates College 7-2 with three singles matches going into a tiebreaker.
The No. 1 doubles team of Arthur Roquet and Antoine Venancio came storming back after falling behind 5-2, holding serve and then breaking the Bates College team of Leo Kupferman and Cameron Kania. From there they held again to tie and went on to win 8-6. It gave the Titans a sweep of doubles as Frederik Oervad and Dario Kmet won the No. 2 doubles match 8-2 and Mikar Fisher and Tomas Reche won third doubles 8-3.
Oervad, Reche, Kmet also picked up singles wins for the Titans.
The men's tennis team will travel to ASA Miami on Saturday for a 1 p.m. match and will be back at Titan Tennis Center Saturday, Feb. 29 against Davenport University at 11 a.m.
