Men's tennis team defeats Franklin Pierce
The Eastern Florida State College men's tennis team defeated Franklin Pierce Thursday afternoon
The Eastern Florida State College men's tennis team rebounded from a tough weekend in Pensacola to defeat Franklin Pierce 8-1 Thursday afternoon at Titan Tennis Center.
In a match shown live on WEFS-TV, the team of Eduardo Garcia and Pablo Munoz battled Sonny Bisazza and Andrew Schadt in a tight match that the duo eventually lost, 9-7.
It was the only loss for the Titans as Jesus Amezcua and Danrich Kruger won the No. 2 doubles match 8-2 and Andreas Wejs and Maximiliano Faundez won the No. 3 doubles 8-2 as well.
Up 2-1, the Titans swept the singles matches, winning all six in straight sets. Amezcua, Garcia, Faundez and Wejs all won 6-0, 6-0 while Kruger won the No. 2 singles 6-1, 6-0 and Munoz won 6-2, 6-0.
The men's tennis team improved to 11-8 on the season and will host the Florida Tech JV team March 22 at 6 p.m. It will be Campus Kids Day and admission is free.
