Men's tennis team blanks Florida Tech JV squad
The Eastern Florida State College men's tennis team defeated Florida Tech's JV team Thursday afternoon
The Eastern Florida State College men's tennis team blanked the Florida Tech JV squad 9-0 in a match at Florida Tech Thursday afternoon.
Eduardo Garcia and Danrich Kruger teamed up to defeat J.J. Clark and Tjimon Louisy in a No. 1 doubles match that went to a tiebreaker, winning 9-8 (7-4).
Kruger met Clark once again in the No. 2 singles match and the pair battled for almost two hours with Kruger coming out on top 7-6 (11-9), 6-4.
Pablo Munoz and Andreas Wejs won the No. 2 doubles 9-7 while Alwyn Mushonga and Samir Chikhaoui picked up the No. 3 doubles win 8-4.
Chikhaoui defeated Jose Martinez in the No. 1 singles 6-4, 6-1 while Jesus Amezcua won No 3 singles match with Kleanthis Zisis Tegos 6-3, 6-0. Alwyn Mushonga defeated Louisy at fourth singles, 6-3, 6-0 as well.
In No. 5 singles, Wejs beat Jameson Burch 6-4, 6-3 and Garcia defeated Silviu Solomon 6-3, 6-4.
The Titan men's tennis team will travel to Mississippi to play Meridian Community College on Feb. 26.
