The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team will play Salt Lake Community College for the Group C title at the NJCAA Division I National Tournament today in Wichita, Kansas.
Both teams are 1-0 at the national tournament and the winner will advance to the national tournament semifinals on Thursday evening.
Eastern Florida State College beat Murray State 2-1 as Luc Achermann-Stanfield and Stephen Gilbert each scored in the final 10 minutes of the contest. It was the second straight game that Achermann-Stanfield has scored a goal and the fourth time in the past five contests. The sophomore now has eight goals to go with his team-leading 19 assists.
Gilbert scored his seventh goal of the season on Monday night.
Salt Lake beat Murray State in penalty kicks on Sunday after the two teams were tied 0-0 after 110 minutes. Salt Lake is the No. 3 seed in the tournament and is 16-1-2 on the season.
The two teams have not met since 2022 when the Titans won in overtime.
