Men's soccer team hosts Miami Dade for Southeast District title tonight
The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team is playing Miami Dade College tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the Southeast District Championship Game at Orlando Health Stadium
It will be a Region 8 Championship rematch tonight as the Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team will play Miami Dade College in the Southeast District Championship game.
The Titans are coming off a 7-1 victory against Southern Union in the semifinals on Friday as Stephen Gilbert recorded a hat trick and Adrian Adrian scored two goals. Eastern Florida State College got off to a fast start as they jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the first 15 minutes of the match.
The Titans have a five-game win streak heading into the district final and are looking to even the season series with the Sharks. Miami Dade won the first two meetings, but the Titans picked up the 4-2 win last week in the Region 8 Championship.
Miami Dade won a highly-contested game with USC Sumter 3-1, scoring twice in the final 11 minutes to put the game away and advance to the district final.
Both teams come into the matchup 13-2-2 on the season and are both ranked in the top 10 in the nation with the Titans ranked seventh and the Sharks eighth. In the first three games, 13 goals have been scored as the Sharks have seven and the Titans six.
The winner of tonight's game will get an automatic bid to the NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament. Game time is 7:30 p.m. at Orlando Health Stadium and admission is $5. EFSC students are free when they show their school ID. You can purchase tickets ahead of tonight's game here.
The game will also be broadcast on EFSC Titans YouTube page.
