Men's soccer team shuts out Broward College on sophomore night
The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team won its sixth straight game Friday night
It was a night for the sophomores at Titan Soccer Complex as the men's soccer team hosted Broward College in the final regular season home game of the season Friday night.
And the sophomores shined on a wet, rainy night as all four goals were scored by sophomores in the 4-0 Region 8 Conference win.
Alex Alexis got the Titans on the board 10 minutes into the contest as he made a cut to the right and shot. It was the first of two goals for Alexis on the evening.
Six minutes later Danilo Orsi Dadomo made history, setting the single-season scoring mark with his 15th goal of the season. The sophomore from England has 29 goals in his Titans career, also a school record.
With eight minutes remaining in the first half a Broward player got a straight red card for a tackle and Seigle Knight made them pay, scoring a minute later. It was Knight's second goal of the season.
"We played a fantastic first and I thought Alex responded well in tonight's game and was really, really impressive with the way he was pressing the ball and getting a couple of goals. I thought he was the Man of the Match," Eastern Florida State College men's soccer coach Oliver Twelvetrees said. "We had a solid defensive effort tonight and it was great to get a clean sheet, we have not had enough clean sheets this season."
As the rain continued to fall, things got chippy on the field as tw red cards and seven yellow cards were issued and both teams finished with 10 players.
After the game, the eight sophomores were recognized as Alexis, Orsi Dadomo, Knight, Owen Tworkowski, Bryce Notardonato, Hakeem Reid, Leo Berry and Michael White played their final regular-season game at Titan Soccer Complex.
The Titans, who won their sixth straight game and is now 9-2 overall and 4-1 in the conference. They will wrap up the regular season on Wednesday night at ASA Miami before heading to the postseason.
