Orsi-Dadomo ties school record in Titans district semifinal victory
The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team defeated Richard Bland College 2-0 to advance to the NJCAA Southeast District Championship on Saturday
The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team advanced to the final of the NJCAA Southeast District Championship with a 2-0 victory over Richard Bland Friday afternoon at Embry-Riddle.
J.J. Donnelly made a nice pass to Danilo Orsi-Dadomo who finished to give the Titans a 1-0 lead 22 minutes into the contest. It was Orsi-Dadomo's 13th goal of the season, tying the school record held by Cleef Desir.
" He has been doing that all year, he is great to play with," Orsi-Dadomo said of Donnelly's assist. "Without the boys I would not have all these goals this year, so many of them to give the credit to, not just me putting it in the back of the net."
The goal held until the second half when teammate Seigel Knight made it 2-0 in the second half with a long strike from way outside the box, sending the 12-4 Titans into Saturday's final at 2 p.m.
"I thought we played really, really well and executed the game plan. We dominated the game from start to finish, certainly would have been nice to create a few more chances and make our possession and territorial advantage pay off but we are happy with the result, happy with the clean sheet and happy to be moving on," Eastern Florida State men's soccer coach Oliver Twelvetrees said.
It was the ninth clean sheet for the defense this season and third in the past four games.
"We are pretty young in our back line, quite a few freshmen and some guys have really matured this season," Twelvetrees said. "Bryce (Notardonato) has really matured, it was good to see RuShane (McClymont) get some minutes and secure the shutout for Bryce, Lewis (Fogg) and Owen (Tworkowski) have been top notch and then Adolpho (Peraza) as well. A really good effort by the back line not to give them too much."
