Titan men's soccer team tops Broward, claim share of conference title
The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team defeated Broward to claim a share of the Region 8 Conference title Sunday
Danilo Orsi-Dadomo made sure the sophomores walked off the Titan Soccer Complex field as winners Sunday afternoon.
The freshman scored three times to pace the Titans to a 4-1 victory over Broward College and lock up a share of the Region 8 Conference championship.
"We said at the beginning that we were going to win this region and that is what we have done," Orsi-Dadomo said. "It was the boys' last game here and they won. We were joking around this week saying we needed to score some goals and I am happy I was able to help with that today."
Orsi-Dadomo now has 12 goals this season and is just one away from tying Cleef Desir's school record of 13 set in 2014.
"Danilo has been playing really well lately and things clicked a little better today, especially in the second half and this team is showing some character," Eastern Florida State College men's soccer coach Oliver Twelvetrees said. "Now there is no doubt that we have team spirit and momentum heading into the crunch part of the season – the postseason."
Yaya Cisse scored the other goal in the game as the sophomore now has five goals this season and was one of 10 honored after the game.
The Titans will play in the Southeast District Championships beginning Friday and if they win that they will return to the NJCAA Men's Soccer National Championship Tournament in Tyler, Texas.
"It's nice to get to seven wins (in the conference) and tie Daytona for the title, would have been nice to win it outright and get the 1 seed but we are definitely hungry heading into the district tourney," Twelvetrees said. "We are really excited to take on the best team from the Carolinas and hopefully get a rematch with Daytona in the final."
