Titan men's soccer blanks Daytona State
The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team picked up a 3-0 win against Daytona State at Embry-Riddle Friday afternoon
The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team posted its third straight shutout as they picked up another Region 8 Conference win with a 3-0 victory against Daytona State College Friday afternoon at Embry-Riddle.
The win sets up a showdown Monday night at Titan Soccer Complex between the two teams as each now has one win in the series.
"We are excited about Monday now," Eastern Florida State College men's soccer coach Oliver Twelvetrees said. "The loss up here hurt us, it hurt the team and the program. We weren't ready to play that day and today we were."
Danilo Orsi-Dadomo gave the Titans the lead in the first half and Yaya Cisse and J.J. Donnelly scored in the second half to lift the Titans to 8-3 overall and 4-1 in the conference heading into the final week of the regular season.
"It was just a matter of Yaya getting fit because we worked well together last year and Danilo is just a natural goal scorer. Add in Alex, he didn't get his goal today but he was working hard. Everyone was good today, some real quality," Donnelly said. "We have to play them again Monday and they are getting coached p right now so it will be a battle."
Bryce Notardonato made sure those goals would stand, making several outstanding saves including saving a penalty kick late in the second half.
"He has the ability to make the big save. That is why he is in there, he can make that big save," Twelvetrees said. "We really wanted that clean sheat and we worked until the end to get it."
