Parada leads Titan men's soccer past Laramie County Community College
The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team scored a 4-1 victory over Laramie County Community College at Titan Soccer Complex.
Juan Parada spent the summer on campus, taking courses and working on his game.
That work showed on Friday afternoon as he led the Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team to a 4-1 victory over Laramie County Community College in the home opener at Titan Soccer Complex.
An early Laramie County goal put the Titans behind but Parada tied things up on a nice back heel pass from Danilo Orsi-Dadomo in the 28th minute.
"It was a nice play," Parada said of the first goal. "We started playing as a team more and when we play as a team, we are hard to beat."
Right before halftime the Titans would take the lead as Orsi-Dadomo found the back of the net for the third time in the young season.
After missing a couple of chances in the first half, J.J. Donnelly scored his first goal of the season early in the second half, making a good run and beating the Laramie goalkeeper.
"He missed a few tonight, probably have some nightmares about a few of them but it was great to see him get on the scoring sheet," Eastern Florida State College men's soccer coach Oliver Twelvetrees said. "If we are going to be successful, we need him putting the ball in the back of the net."
Up 3-1, Parada would put the game out of reach with 30 minutes remaining, scoring his second goal of the game.
"It was nice to get the result, score some goals under the lights, in front of the cameras. It was a positive performance but we have some things to work on," Twelvetrees said. "We need to get better in all aspects of the game, understand the system better, improve defensively and we will do that."
The Titans will be back at Titan Soccer Complex Sunday afternoon when they host Florida National at 4 p.m.
