Men's golf team finishes 13th at Battle at the Lakes

The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team was one of four teams to shoot under par in the final round of the 2026 Battle at the Lakes in Miami.
The Titans shot a 286 in the final round to finish in 13th place overall in the tournament featuring some of the top NCAA Division II teams in the nation.
Daniel Byers shot a 3-under 69 in the final round to move up into a tie for 34th place overall at 5-over. The sophomore had an eagle on the par 4 15th hole as he finished with six birdies.
Jamie Smith finished tied for 24th place after shooting even par 72 in the final round and was 2-over for the tournament.
Sean Jacoby shot a 1-under 71 in the final round and tied for 62nd place with teammate Horace Pennix.
Jacoby had his best round of the tournament with four birdies and had an eagle on the par 5 12th hole.
Pennix shot a 2-over 74 in the final round.
Nolan Hyatt had an 80 on Tuesday.
"Much better play today. Solid play by Danny, Sean and Jamie," Eastern Florida State College men's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "Good move today after the slow start to yesterday."
The men's golf team will now prepare for the NJCAA Men's Southeast District Championship beginning April 20.
