The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team got off to a slow start and is in 17th after two rounds at the 2026 Battle at the Lakes.
The Titans shot a 315 in the first round but rebounded by shooting a 290 in the second round at the Miami Lakes Golf Club.
Jamie Smith shot a 2-under 70 in the second round after a 4-over in the first round and is tied for 25th overall after two rounds. Daniel Byers shot even par 72 after opening with an 80 while Horace Pennix shot rounds of 82 and even par 72.
Nolan Hyatt shot 79 and 76 while Sean Jacoby had rounds of 80 and 77 for the Titans.
"A tough day and a real struggle the first round," Eastern Florida State College men's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "Played in the rain off and on all day. Had good comeback rounds by Smith, Byers and Pennix."
The final round of the tournament will tee off Tuesday morning.
