The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team leads the Faulkner State Invitational after the first day
The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team is leading Copiah Lincoln Community College by five strokes after the first round of the Faulkner State Invitational in Fairhope, Alabama.
The Titans picked up where they left off in the spring opener, shooting 296 as a team in the first round. Brad Bawden led the way, shooting a 72 and is in third place, one stroke behind the leaders. Teammate Ryan Rozic shot a 74 while Mathieu Echelard and Tyler Bennett each shot 75.
"We played well, the course is playing good and fair," Eastern Florida State College men's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "We need to take advantage of our short iron play and we will be fine."
The final round of the invitational is set for Sunday morning.
