Eastern Florida State College men's golfer Fraser Davren leads the field after the first day of the Central Alabama Collegiate Invitational at Willow Point Golf & Country Club in Alexander City, Ala.
Davren shot a two-under-par 70 in the first round and leads the Invitational by two strokes over Central Alabama's Steve Wysocki. Central Alabama leads the team event with a 295. Eastern Florida is in second place, six shots back.
Teammate Kyle Decenzo shot a 76 for the Titans while teammates Ryan Rozic had a 77, Brad Bawden had a 78 and Gregory Darnell shot an 84.
"Willow Point is an awesome venue and it played tough all day today. Firm, fast conditions and greens running extremely fast led to challenging scoring," Howell said. "Central Alabama will be tough on their home course but six shots on this course can change very quickly."
