Eastern Florida State College men's basketball player Sean Register Jr. has had one of the most productive single seasons in program history.
And on Monday he was named to the Division I All-FCSAA Men's Basketball Team as one of the top players in the state.
The freshman from Cleveland, Ohio has set the Titans single-season record for points scored in a season with 743 points this season. He is just the second player in program to score over 700 points in a season, joining Kareem Brewton who scored 718 points in 2016-17 season.
Register Jr. finished the regular season leading the FCSAA and third in the nation at 24.8 points per game and he shot 67 percent from the floor this season which also led the FCSAA. He also grabbed 8.7 rebounds per game which was fifth in the state. His 11 double-doubles this season is the second most double-doubles in program history.
"It is thrilling to see Sean earn All-State honors not just because of what he has accomplished on the court but because of all the work he puts into the game in unseen hours," Eastern Florida State College men's basketball coach Zach Ferrell said. "Sean is a gym rat who loves the game and wants to be the best player and teammate he can possibly be. He has left his mark on Eastern Florida basketball in a way that will go down in history."
The forward was named the Citrus Conference Player of the Year and has been the FCSAA Player of the Week five times this season. He was named the NJCAA Division I Player of the Week twice.
Register has recorded at least 21 points in 25 of the 30 games and has three 30-plus games this season.
The men's basketball team qualified for the FCSAA Division I Men's Basketball that begins Wednesday at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville. The Titans are the No. 6 seed and will open against No. 3 seed Daytona State College.
"We are excited to play in the tournament. We have been stacking days and have to just keep going," Register said. "They are a really talented team, one of the best teams in the country so going against them is always fun and a good rivalry. We can't wait to play them again."
Fans can watch the tournament live online here. Tickets are $15 per day or $40 for the tournament and can be purchased at the Raider Arena Box Office.
