The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team is in Georgia this weekend for the Sparky Reeves Classic at South Georgia Tech.
The Titans come into the tournament 5-1 on the season and will play East Georgia State College on Friday at 6 p.m. and then play host South Georgia Tech Saturday at 3 p.m.
East Georgia State College has started the season 1-4 and is coming off a loss to Brunswick Community College. The Bobcats are led by the duo of Malik Hinton and Myles Squirewell who each average 10 points per game.
South Georgia Tech comes into the tournament on a seven-game losing streak including a close loss to the Titans last week at the Eastern Florida Classic.
Freshman Sean Register Jr. enters the tournament averaging 23.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per game and has recorded four double-doubles this season. Three other Titans are averaging double digits in scoring as Joviel Acevedo-Arroyo is averaging 13.8 points while Nick Oliver is averaging 11.7 and Tyson Wilson is scoring 10.3 points per game. Wilson is also averaging 6.7 assists per game.
It is the first of a couple of tournaments before returning home Dec. 15-16 for the Eastern Florida Classic.
