Men's basketball team rolls to 4-1 on the season
The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team picked up a win at home as five players scored in double figures
Five players scored in double figures as the Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team cruised to victory Tuesday night at Titan Field House on the Melbourne campus.
The Titans, who are No. 12 in the latest NJCAA Division I poll, defeated North Florida Prep 98-55.
North Florida Prep hit the first basket of the game but then the Titans went on a 15-0 run as five different players scored during the run highlighted by two 3-pointers by Felipe Patino. North Florida Pre responded with a run of their own, cutting the Titans lead to one before a free throw by Fredy-Salam Sylla ended the run. The Titans would build another lead and headed to halftime with a 45-29 lead. Corey Caulker had 10 of his 14 points in the first half.
The second half saw the Titans go on another run in the first few minutes of the second half as they went on a 9-0 run to give EFSC a 20-point lead. The lead reached 30 points with six minutes left as Joviel Acevedo-Arroyo had five quick points during a run.
Sylla finished with 19 points and eight rebounds while Emondrek Erkins-Ford finished with his second straight double-double of the season, scoring 16 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Patino scored 12 points and Chandler Watts finished with 11 points.
Eastern Florida State College will host Florida Memorial Prep on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at Titan Field House. Admission to games is free and the game will be shown live online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
