The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team will host Daytona State College in a battle of the top two teams in the Citrus Conference Wednesday night.
The Titans are ranked 16th in the NJCAA Division I poll and head into the matchup 10-2 in the conference while Daytona State College is 10-1 and No. 3 in the national poll.
Eastern Florida State College won the first meeting at Daytona State College, 94-88 and leads the series 8-2 in the past 10 meetings.
Daytona State College is averaging 99.7 points per game this season while the Titans are holding teams to just 61.7 points per game. Both are tops in Region 8.
Five players are averaging 11 points or more for the Falcons led by Josue Grullon who had 39 points in the first meeting. Grullon is averaging 21.7 points per game this season. Teammate Breylin Garcia is averaging 13.7 with Kylin Green and Victor Panov averaging 12.7 and 12.5 respectively. Isaiah Dorceus is averaging 11.1 points off the bench for Daytona State College.
Sophomore Owen Aquino is leading the Titans, averaging 15.8 points and 8.1 rebounds. Aquino was named the Region 8 Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Matija Zuzic comes into the matchup averaging 12 points per game while Luca Colceag is averaging 11.8 points and Andrija Bukumirovic is averaging 10 points per game.
Wednesday night's game will tip off at 7:30 p.m. at Titan Field House and admission is free. The game will be shown locally on WEFS-TV which is channel 9 or 455 on Spectrum, 68 on DirecTV, 30 on Dish and 68 on AT&T Uverse. The game can also be seen live online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
