The Eastern Florida State College baseball team lost a non-conference game Tuesday night at Bruce Bochy Field.
The Titans fell to Lake Sumter State College 4-2 and are now 10-12 heading into a series with Hillsborough Community College beginning Thursday.
Lake Sumter State College scored in the top of the first, loading the bases but only got one run as Titans starter Bradley Link recorded a big strikeout to end the threat.
Eastern Florida State College tied the game in the bottom of the first inning when Bryce Jackson scored on a Hutson Guinn RBI single.
The Titans took a 2-1 lead in the second inning as Richie Collazo scored on Drew Gaskins RBI single.
Lake Sumter would tie the game in the top of the fourth inning and it would remain tied until the sixth inning when the Lakehawks took the lead on a sacrifice fly. They would score one more in the top of the ninth to lead 4-2.
The Titans threatened in the bottom of the ninth but could not get the big hit to tie the game.
Link finished with six strikeouts over four innings while Ethan Askin had three hits in the game.
Eastern Florida State College will travel to Hillsborough on Thursday for the first game of a three-game series. Thursday's game will begin at 1 p.m. The series will shift to Bruce Bochy Field on Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
