Baseball team hits road for series opener at Miami Dade

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team will begin a three-game series against Miami Dade College on Thursday.
The Titans will travel to Miami Dade for the first game of the series beginning at 6 p.m. with Miami Dade coming to Bruce Bochy Field for a doubleheader on Saturday.
Eastern Florida State College is coming off a three-game sweep against Seminole State College and is now 3-3 in the Citrus Conference. Hutson Guinn had a big series against the Raiders, going 5-9 with a couple of doubles and a home run. For the season, Guinn is hitting .333. Andrew Prieto leads the Titans offensively with a .417 batting average while teammate Bryce Jackson leads the team with 18 RBI and is hitting .296.
On the mound, Parker Trowbridge is fourth in the FCSAA in earned run average with a 2.29 and is scheduled to be back on the mound at home on Saturday.
The Sharks have won five in a row and are 4-1 in the Citrus Conference after sweeping Indian River State College last weekend. Willy Mendez had multi-hit games in all three games of the series and is leading Miami Dade College in batting average, hitting .375 in 18 games with five home runs and has driven in 20.
Thursday's game in Miami will begin at 6 p.m. with the doubleheader Saturday at Bruce Bochy Field will begin at 1 p.m. and fans can watch the games live online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
