The Eastern Florida State College baseball team will open a series with Seminole State College on Thursday evening.
The Titans will host the Raiders at 5 p.m. in a Citrus Conference game in the first game of a three-game series.
Eastern Florida State College comes into the series looking for their first conference win after falling to Polk State College last weekend.
And it will be a battle of two of the faster teams in the state as both teams are in the top three in stolen bases this season with the Titans stealing 38 and the Raiders stealing 37 bags this season.
Seminole State College is 2-1 in the conference after winning a three-game series against Indian River State College and are 12-4 on the season. The Raiders are fourth in the state in batting average, hitting .333 as a team. Elijah Hurt is leading the Raiders, hitting .432 in 14 games.
The Titans are 6-9 overall and are looking to snap a three-game losing streak.
Joey Duprey will get the ball for the Titans as he looks to rebound from last Thursday's start against Polk State College. For the season, Duprey is 1-1 in three appearances with 10 strikeouts in nine innings.
Offensively, Andrew Prieto is hitting .391 in 10 games while Jackson Wargo is hitting .355 in 10 games and Chris Carrolls is hitting .324 in 12 games.
"I think we are continuing to get healthy and had good energy at practice. The response from last weekend was really good to see," Eastern Florida State College baseball coach Mitchell Gallagher said.
Thursday's game at Bruce Bochy Field begins at 5 p.m. and admission is free. Fans can watch the game live online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
