The Eastern Florida State College baseball team fell to Palm Beach State College on the road Tuesday afternoon.
The Titans, who are now 5-4 on the season, lost the lead late and their rally in the ninth fell short in the 8-5 loss to the Panthers.
Eastern Florida State College got on the board in the top of the second inning as Drew Gaskins hit his first home run of the season. They would score another run in the third inning as Sage Adams had an RBI single and Bryce Jackson's single scored the third run in the fourth inning.
Up 3-0 until the sixth inning when the Panthers scored five runs including a three-run home run by Kellen Hirsh. Palm Beach State College would add a run in the seventh and two more in the eighth inning to take an 8-3 lead.
In the ninth inning, the Titans would score twice on a Omir Santos single but could not get any closer.
Jackson Wargo finished with three hits while Gaskins had two.
Eastern Florida State College will be back on the road on Thursday for a 5 p.m. game at the State College of Florida-Manatee. The Titans will be back at home on Saturday for a doubleheader against TNXL Academy beginning at 1 p.m. Admission to Bruce Bochy Field is free and fans can watch the games live online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
