Baseball team knocks off Northwest Florida, goes 2-2 at classic
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team went 1-1 on the second day of the Panama City Beach College Baseball Classic on Friday, falling to Chipola College and then beat Northwest Florida State College

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team went 1-1 on the second day of the Panama City Beach College Baseball Classic on Friday.
The Titans defeated No. 20 Northwest Florida State College 4-3 and is now 5-3 on the season.
Richie Collazo got the Titans on the board in the second inning, hitting a two-run home run and the Titans added two more in the fourth inning as Andrew Prieto hit a solo home run and then Iziah Santiago had an RBI single to make it 4-1.
Northwest Florida State College added a run in the fifth inning and then scored a run in the top of the seventh inning and threatened to tie the game but Breylynn Courtney got the final two outs including a strikeout to end the game for the save.
Kyle Hirsch got the start and allowed one run over three innings, striking out five and walking four.
Santiago finished with two hits in the game.
The Titans fell short against Chipola College in the first game of the day, 5-4.
Eastern Florida State College fell behind 4-1 early and scored another run in the second inning and then would score twice in the sixth inning to make it a one-run game.
Steel Mentkiewicz had two hits and drove in a run while Collazo finished with three hits including a double.
The Titans will hit the road for a couple of games this week before returning to Bruce Bochy Field for a doubleheader on Saturday. On Tuesday the Titans will play at Palm Beach State College at 2 p.m. and then the team will travel to the State College of Florida-Manatee on Thursday at 5 p.m.
