Baseball team falls in conference doubleheader
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team lost a pair of Citrus Conference games Saturday against Santa Fe College

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team lost a pair of Citrus Conference games Saturday at Bruce Bochy Field.
The Titans, who are now 7-8 in the conference, lost the first game 4-2 and then rallied back but fell short 10-8 in the second game to Santa Fe College. Santa Fe is now also 7-8 in the conference.
In the first game, Santa Fe hit a three-run home run in the second inning and held on as the Titans left 12 on base.
Bryce Jackson went 2-for-2, driving in both runs and also walked in the game. Ryan Cerrone scored both runs for the Titans. Jason Mack also had two hits.
In the second game, Santa Fe jumped out to a 6-0 lead early but the Titans struck back in the fourth as Mack hit an RBI single, then Shane Thomas scored on a wild pitch. Jeff Davis followed with an RBI single of his own and Kevin Smith ripped a two-run triple to cut the lead to one.
Smith would once again cut the lead to one with an RBI single in the sixth.
Down 8-6 in the eighth, Santa Fe hit a two-run home run to take a 10-6 lead.
Richard Collazo blasted a solo home run to lead off the bottom of the eighth to make it 10-7. They would score one in the ninth on a Mack RBI single but left two on.
Collazo and Gustavo Mendez each had three hits in the game.
Eastern Florida State College will play Anoka-Ramsey Community College at 7 p.m. Monday night at Dodgertown in Vero Beach. The game will begin at 7 p.m. The Titans will be back at home for a Citrus Conference game with Florida Southwestern on Thursday.
