Baseball team hosts Hillsborough CC in conference doubleheader Saturday
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team will host Hillsborough Community College Saturday in a Citrus Conference doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team is home Saturday for the Citrus Conference home opener Saturday afternoon.
The Titans won the first game of the three-game series with Hillsborough Community College and will go for the series win at Bruce Bochy Field Saturday. The first game of the doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m. and the first game will be seven innings with the second game a nine inning game.
Eastern Florida State College won the series opener behind a 14-hit attack and the team is hitting .296 this season. Bo Tabola is hitting .382 in 10 games this season with a couple of home runs for the Titans.
A couple of starters off to good starts this season will get the ball on Saturday. Nathan Hook has been really good in his first two starts this season, striking out 11 in eight innings of work and has not allowed a run. Freshman Brody Kelly will get his first start this season and has allowed just one run over the first seven innings with seven strikeouts. Kelly comes into conference play with a 1.29 ERA.
