Baseball team hosts Santa Fe in conference game Thursday

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team will host Santa Fe College in a Citrus Conference game on Thursday.

The Titans, who are 5-7 in the conference, will host the Saints at 3 p.m. at Bruce Bochy Field in the first of a three-game series. The teams will play a doubleheader Saturday at Santa Fe beginning at 1 p.m.

On Thursday the Titans will send Evimael Quires to the mound. Quires will make his fourth start of the season for the Titans and will be looking for his first win. Offensively, Adrian Dominguez is hitting .359 this season with 12 doubles and two home runs and has driven in a team-leading 24 runs. The Titans are hitting .298 as a team in 27 games this season.

Santa Fe comes into the series 5-5 in the conference and are led by AJ Barrios who is fifth in Region 8 in batting average, hitting .425 in 26 games this season. Justin Jackson has been very good for the Saints this season with a 5-1 record and a 1.64 ERA this season. He allowed just one run over seven innings in his last start against Miami Dade College.
