Baseball team falls on road, sets up key matchup Saturday
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team lost to South Florida State College on the road in a Southern Conference game Friday evening

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team lost to South Florida State College Friday to even up the Southern Conference three-game series.
The final game of the series will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Bruce Bochy Field.
On Friday, KC Swords got the start and was sharp early on and the Titans would open the scoring in the top of the fourth inning.
Gabriel Cruz hit a single, Jason Blackstone laid down a bunt and was safe on an error. Cruz used his speed to score after a passed ball turned into a throwing error on the catcher for the first run of the game. Later in the inning Drew Stubbs hit a two-run home run to make it 3-0. It was Stubbs' ninth home run of the season.
Swords would strike out two more in the fifth inning but the Panthers strung together some hits in the sixth and then Jakoby Stanley hit a three-run home run to give South Florida State College a 4-3 lead.
The Panthers would add two more in the seventh inning to take a 6-3 lead.
The Titans would load the bases in the top of the ninth inning but could not get the big hit.
