KC Swords named Region VIII Pitcher of the Week
Eastern Florida State College starting pitcher KC Swords threw seven shutout innings against Seminole State College and is named the FCSAA Region VIII Pitcher of the Week
Eastern Florida State College baseball pitcher KC Swords was named the FCSAA Region VIII Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday.
The sophomore starter from Vero Beach threw seven shutout innings in a victory against Seminole State College last Friday. It was his second win of the season and he was dominant from the start.
Swords struck out two hitters in each of the first three innings and then struck out three in the fourth inning. He had one more strikeout in the fifth and his final one ended the seventh inning as well as his day.
The first two hitters reached in the seventh and Swords got out of the jam with two flyouts and the strikeout. Swords allowed just three hits in the seven innings and did not walk a batter.
It is the first time Swords has been named the Region VIII Pitcher of the Week and it is the first time since Tyler Vogel was named the pitcher of the week Feb. 9, 2021.
