Baseball team hosts Palm Beach State Thursday afternoon
After a couple days of rain, the Eastern Florida State College baseball team will host Palm Beach State College Thursday at 2 p.m. for the final home game of the regular season
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team's game with Palm Beach State College was rained out for the second straight day on Wednesday.
The Titans will now open the series Thursday afternoon at Bruce Bochy Field against the Panthers with the first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m.
Eastern Florida State College is coming into the weekend series 3-2 in the past five games and is 1-2 this season against the Panthers.
Freshman Lake Fisher is third in Region VIII in home runs with 12 as he has hit three in the past five games for the Titans.
On the mound the Titans are fourth in the state in strikeouts per nine innings, averaging 10.49 led by sophomore Darien Smith who has 100 heading into his final start of the season. Smith's 100 strikeouts leads both Region VIII and the nation.
The series will head to Palm Beach State College Saturday for a 1 p.m. game. Admission to Bruce Bochy Field is free and fans are asked to social distance and wear a mask while on campus.
