The Eastern Florida State College baseball team split a doubleheader with South Georgia State College Friday at Bruce Bochy Field.

In Game 1, the Titans found themselves down 2-1 in the bottom of the seventh inning but rallied for two runs to pick up the win.

Centerfielder Chet Moore led off the game with a solo home run to tie the game, his third home run of the season. The blast tied the game 1-1. It remained tied until the top of the sixth when the Hawks took the lead, 2-1.

But the Titans rallied back as Lake Fisher doubled with one out and Nathan Housen walked, bringing up Garrett Evans who loaded the bases with a single. After a strikeout for the second out, Moore tied the game with an RBI walk and Housen scored the winning run on a passed ball. 

Trey Felker improved to 2-2 on the season, tossing one scoreless inning striking out three. Starting pitcher Tyler Vogel allowed one earned run over six innings, striking out five in a no-decision.

In Game 2, Zack Kornick pitched well in his first start, allowing two unearned runs on two hits over four innings striking out three.

The Titans managed just one hit in a 5-1 loss in the second game.

Eastern Florida State College, who is 10-12 on the season, will play Hagerstown Community College in Vero Beach on Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
