Baseball team brings hot bats into series with Indian River State
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team is back at Bruce Bochy Field Wednesday for a Southern Conference game with Indian River State College
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team is back at Bruce Bochy Field this week in need of a win.
The Titans offense scored 27 times in the three losses against Miami Dade College who are second in Region 8 in ERA this season and lead the Southern Conference with a 13-3 record.
Five players hit at least .300 in the series led by freshman Kevin Silva who was 6-for-10 with five runs scored. The top of the lineup was productive as Dylan Espinal was 5-for-13 with four RBI and three runs scored, Cristian Sanjurjo went 6-for-13 with six RBI and five runs scored, Elian Merejo was 4-for-11 with four RBI and five runs scored including his fifth home run and Paul Castillo was 5-for-12 with five RBI including his third home run.
Espinal also stole his 19th base of the season in the first game of the series which is tied for third in Region 8 this season.
Now the Titans, who are 16-19 overall and 3-13 in the conference, will host an Indian River State College team that won two of three in a series earlier this season. Wednesday and Friday's games will begin at 4 p.m. and admission is free to Bruce Bochy Field.
