Titans Suffer 15-4 Defeat to Miami Dade

The Titans, locked into a FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Tournament play-in game on Thursday, conclude the regular season with a home-and-home series with Palm Beach College on Tuesday and Wednesday.
They visit the Panthers at 5 p.m. Tuesday in Lake Worth and host them at 5 p.m. Wednesday in a game to be telecast live on WEFS-TV and streamed live at www.efsctitans.com
They then play St. Petersburg College on Thursday in Winter Haven for the right to advance to the FCSAA/Region 8 Tournament as a wild card.
The appearance will be the Titans third play-in game in five seasons. They are 1-1 in the wild-card games.
Saturday's run-rule defeat followed a 6-0 Eastern Florida victory over Miami Dade on Friday in Kendall. Tommy Romero was the winning pitcher and Jack Corbell got the save.
The Titans are 14-12 in the FCSAA Southern Conference and 29-16 overall. Conference leader Miami Dade is 18-8 and 30-15.
Miami Dade broke a 4-4 tie by sending 10 batters to the plate in the fifth inning and scoring five times for a 9-4 lead.
Titans head coach Jeff Tam used three pitchers in the fifth and four on the day as Miami Dade pounded out 13 hits and took advantage of four Titans errors and four hit batters.
Ryan Lang took the loss.
The Sharks added four runs in the sixth inning and two in the seventh.
The Titans managed just one base runner beyond the fourth inning.
Leadoff batter Norbert Navarro had three of the Titans seven hits and two runs batted in. Jasson Corneil had two hits.
