Titans baseball team loses to Palm Beach State
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team lost a Southern Conference game to Palm Beach State Tuesday night

Eastern Florida State College's baseball team dropped a 12-2 seven-inning decision to Palm Beach State on Tuesday at Bruce Bochy Field on the Melbourne Campus.
The defeat dropped Eastern Florida to 9-8 in the Southern Conference and 22-12 overall. Conference leader Palm Beach State improved to 13-4 and 28-8 with its Region 8-best ninth straight victory.
The teams meet again at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Lake Worth.
Eastern Florida State College built a 2-0 lead with single runs in the first and second innings off eventual winning pitcher lefty Kyle Farjad. The Titans left four runners on base over the two innings and two more in the third.
Farjad settled down in the fourth, facing 10 batters in the next three innings. The Titans went in order in the bottom of the seventh, invoking the mercy rule of a 10-run lead after seven innings.
Palm Beach State erupted for four runs in the third inning and five in the fourth, the key blow being Matt Morales' fourth-inning grand slam to left field.
Benito Varela hit a two-run home run to center in the sixth.
The visitors collected 12 hits off three Titan pitchers with starter Chandellor Benton lasting only into the fourth inning.
The Titans collected eight hits. Ian Acevedo had two hits and two runs batted in.
The game was delayed one hour and 20 minutes by thunderstorms.
