After beating Indian River State College 12-2 on Tuesday night, the Pioneers rallied late to get even with the Eastern Florida State College baseball team on Wednesday night.
The Titans lost to the Pioneers 9-6 at Indian River State College and are now 3-3 in the Southern Conference heading into a weekend series against Broward College.
The Titans jumped out to an early 3-0 lead behind RBI singles from Jacob McFadden and Ian Lisle and an RBI double from Elian Merejo. Merejo scored the fourth run of the game after hitting a triple and scoring on Norberto Navarro's sacrifice fly.
Up 4-2 in the eighth inning, the Pioneers would score seven times to take a 9-4 lead.
Sammy Duran came up in the ninth and hit his second home run in as many games, this time a two-run shot to cut the lead to 9-6 but that was as close as the Titans could get on Wednesday.
The Titans will host Broward College at 6 p.m. Friday and then again at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bruce Bochy Field. Admission is free.
