Indian River State College
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team opened the Southern Conference with a 5-1 win over Indian River State College Sunday afternoon.
The Titans improved to 12-4 overall and 1-0 in the conference behind another strong performance from Tommy Romero. The starting pitcher struck out 11 hitters for the third time this season, picking up his third win.
The game headed to the ninth holding a slim 2-1 lead, but scored three times in the top of the ninth inning. Tim Luth picked up the save, his third of the season.
Sammy Duran had three hits in the game while Dylan Owens and Jacob McFadden each had two hits. Owens drove in two runs.
The Titans will be back at Bruce Bochy Field Tuesday evening, hosting Palm Beach State at 5 p.m. The game will be televised live on WEFS-TV and streamed live at www.njcaatv.com/efsc
