Men's soccer team wins seventh straight, wraps up No. 1 seed

The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team locked up the No. 1 seed in the Region 8 Conference Tournament next week with a 3-0 road win against ASA Miami.

The Titans end the regular season on a seven-game win streak and will host the Region 8 Conference Tournament final next Saturday night, Oct. 28.

Sophomore Danilo Orsi Dadomo opened the scoring Wednesday night, scoring his 16th goal of the season 25 minutes into the contest. 10 minutes later Abdul Ganiyu Iddrisu scored his first goal of the season to send the Titans into halftime up 2-0.

Alex Alexis made it 3-0 in the second half with his sixth goal of the season.

That was more than enough for Mike Horacius who posted his fourth shutout of the season, making 10 saves against ASA Miami.

"I am extremely proud of the performance tonight from the boys," Eastern Florida State College men's soccer coach Oliver Twelvetrees said. "Really happy to have clinched the number 1 seed, the chance to host the final at home and at least a share of the conference championship. Another complete team performance with Mike excelling for another shut out and a great penalty save at a crucial time in the game. Also great to see Abdul get on the score sheet after working tirelessly and selflessly in the middle of the park all season for us."

The Titans will find out who they will play in the conference final later this week. The winner of the conference tournament will advance to the district tournament Nov. 3-4.
