Men's soccer team has big night against Daytona State

The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team went on the road and defeated No. 6 Daytona State 5-1 in a Region 8 Conference game Tuesday night.

The Titans, who are No. 11 in the latest poll, are now 8-2 overall and 3-1 in the conference and have won five straight games.

Danilo Orsi Dadomo gave the Titans an early lead scoring seven minutes into the game. It was the first of two goals for the conference's leading scorer who now has 14 goals on the season.

Olliver Rodeblad Lowe made it 2-0 on a nice pass from Troy Gonzalez 15 minutes into the contest. Max Scherer scored his first goal as a Titan to make it 3-0.

The second half started with Daytona State getting a penalty kick for a hand ball in the box, cutting the lead to 3-1. But that was as close as it would get as the Titans finished strong with Orsi Dadomo scoring after Owen Tworkowski's throw-in went in front of the net and Orsi Dadomo put it in the back of the net. Jimmy Mwanga rounded out the scoring with a nice shot from outside the box.

"It was a complete performance from the boys, scoring five goals away from home. We really executed the game plan, came in with a pattern of play, how we wanted to defend and counter them and it worked to perfection. We executed and scored some great goals and defended pretty resiliently as well," Eastern Florida State College men's soccer coach Oliver Twelvetrees said.

The Titans will host Broward College on Friday night at 6:30 p.m. and it will be Sophomore Night at Titan Soccer Complex. The game will be shown live on WEFS-TV or online at
