Men's soccer team faces No. 2 team in country Thursday afternoon

Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team will travel to New York for a battle of top five teams in the country.

The No. 4 Titans will play No. 2 Monroe College in the Bronx Thursday afternoon in a matchup of two of the top scoring offenses in the country as Monroe College has scored 25 goals in four games and the Titans have 18 in three games.

"Monroe College is probably the top team in the country right now, they have scored a lot of goals, more than we have and we are excited to go up there and play them," Eastern Florida State College men's soccer coach Oliver Twelvetrees said. "It will be the marquee matchup of the weekend in JUCO soccer."

Danilo Orsi Dadomo leads the Titans attack with eight goals and has assisted on four others while Alex Alexis has two goals and four assists and freshman Chaim Roserie has six assists.

Gabriel Machado has scored seven times for the 4-0 Mustangs while Carlos Rodriguez has scored five times.

The two teams have met twice and neither team has a win as the 2015 matchup ended tied 2-2 in double overtime and the matchup in 2014 was cancelled in the 66th minute.

It is the first of two road games before the Titans open the Region 8 conference schedule, hosting Daytona State College on Sept. 20 in a game that will be televised on WEFS-TV and streamed live at www.efsctitans.com/webcast
