Men's soccer team beats No. 6 Trinidad State in season opener

The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team defeated sixth-ranked Trinidad State Junior College 4-2 in the Titans season opener at Great Bend, Kansas.

The Titans, who came into the season No. 11 in the NJCAA Division I preseason poll, struck first as freshman Olliver Rodeblad Lowe scored his first goal as a Titan on an assist from fellow freshman Troy Gonzalez.

Trinidad State would tie the game in the 53rd minute but the Titans answered as freshman Hakeem Reid scored on an assist from Chaim Roserie.

The Titans took the lead for good as sophomore Danilo Orsi Dadomo picked up where he left off last season, scoring in the 63rd minute and again with 19 seconds remaining to solidify the Titans win.

"It was certainly a first game for us and it was good for the guys to get this game under their belt. We have a lot to work on but a good result for us," Eastern Florida State College men's soccer coach Oliver Twelvetrees said. "They are a really athletic, physical team and it was a quick-paced game."

Eastern Florida State College will play Laramie County Community College at 1 p.m. Saturday in Great Bend, Kansas before returning home to play Jefferson College Sept. 1 at 8 p.m. at Titan Soccer Complex.
