Sporting events at Eastern Florida State College postponed due to storm

Eastern Florida State College has postponed athletic events from Thursday through Monday due to the threat of Hurricane Irma.

The women's soccer team was scheduled to begin Region 8 conference play on Friday against ASA Miami and then play Daytona State College on Monday. Both have been postponed and the game at Daytona State has been rescheduled for Oct. 1 at 6 p.m.

The volleyball team's match against Florida State College at Jacksonville on Thursday has been postponed and rescheduled for Sept. 15 while Saturday's scheduled match with Santa Fe has been cancelled and will not be made up. As of Wednesday afternoon, Tuesday night's home game against South Florida State will be played.

The men's golf team was supposed to open the fall season on Monday in Alabama and that has been cancelled. The softball team was scheduled to open its fall season this weekend and those games have been postponed as well.
